The real origin of the Bulgarian "sins" is probably pagan, although the people say "It is the custom: the Papas says so;" but at any rate, since they must be confessed to the priest, the clergy cannot be ignorant of them, and even if they have not originated they at least sanction and tolerate these superstitions.
