German army attacked the Kingdom of Yugoslavia on 6 April 1941. The frontier was crossed by the Bulgarian military units and administration thirteen days later; both entered the Vardar Macedonia. Thus there was no Bulgarian state presence there before 19 April. Meanwhile, on 13 April 1941 the local population founded the Central Bulgarian Action Committee for Macedonia (CBACM) [46]. The leading figures in CBACM promoted views that were close to the official Bulgarian policy. The Skopie historians present the episode in their own specific manner: "In the period between the invasion of the German Army and putting Macedonia under the Bulgarian occupation, the CBACM issued proclamations to the Macedonian people in order to display the Bulgarian occupation as a spontaneous claim of the Macedonian people to join to Bulgaria. This committee pointed out the Bulgarian "historical right" over Macedonia" [47]. In other words, the Macedonian historiography continues its attempts to obliterate any overt expression of the Bulgarian self-consciousness by Macedonian population. A group of Skopie citizens entered the radio building in the town and repaired the installations damaged by the Serbs. They immediately started a programme in Standard Bulgarian Language [48]. The people who began to work in it were born and lived in Macedonia. Mr. E. Vezenkov was director of Radio Skopie. In June 1942 he was replaced with by Dimitar Giuzelev. Under him new programmes were included: broadcasts devoted to agriculture, children, history, "Labour and Joy", educational programs.
